I took an action item to propose a scripting technique and procedures for testing it. I selected one of the techniques that was proposed during the techniques harvesting performed in July. I selected a relatively easy technique to support GL 2.2 L3 SC 2, Non-emergency interruptions, such as the availability of updated content, can be postponed or suppressed by the user. [1]. The idea is to show a technique to allow the user to turn off non-essential interruptions such as those created via the JavaScript alert() function. Since it can be very difficult to create automated tests for JavaScript techniques, I also created a set of test procedures for testing that the technique was implemented properly. In addition, the techniques task force has been working to finalize a format for providing baseline information for each of the techniques. This technique includes a proposal in the "Baseline Implications" section. Please review the attached technique and comment on: -the technique itself -the testing procedures -the baseline information and organization. This will be discussed at the next Techniques teleconference on August 17. Please note that the attached HTML file relies on styles from the W3 site so you will need internet access to view it with the proper style information.
