The test suite for the WCAG 2.0 is now available for public viewing at: http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WCAG20/tests/ Please take a look and post your comments to this list. The suite hasn't been accepted by the working group yet so there will be many changes in the coming months. A brief description: The suite is designed to test HTML content for conformance to the guidelines. It can be used to answer the simple question "Does my HTML page conform to the WCAG 2.0 ?". It covers HTML content only. Test suites for other technologies are still to be developed. There are currently about 180 tests in the suite but this number should increase. My projection is that we'll end up with around 200 tests. The tests cover basic accessibility in things like images, forms and tables. This suite is based upon the UAAG test suite and is very similar in format and use [1]. Each test is based upon a technique in the HTML Techniques document [2]. This means that each test can be mapped onto a WCAG Principle and Success Criteria. Each test detects a WCAG Success Criteria failure so if you fail a test then you fail a Success Criteria. The suite is not perfect and will need to change over time in response to better research and practices. Over the coming months the working group will have to accept, reject or modify these tests so we have a functioning suite by the time the WCAG2 comes out. Following this message, I'll start the process for accepting or rejecting the individual tests. Cheers, Chris [1] http://www.w3.org/WAI/UA/TS/html401/ [2] http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20-HTML-TECHS/
