The conformance claim should also include a reference to the process on which the claim is based. This could be a reference to the test suite or checklist or technique that was used to validate the content. It could also be a reference to software tools, people or organizations outside of WAI. Although the WAI may wish to control who/what is able to make the claim. Without a reference, there is no method of testing whether the conformance claim is true. The reference on which the claim is based may change over time so the claim should also include a date. For example, the test suite and techniques for HTML will need to change over time as better accessibility practices are discovered. Any claim based upon them must refer to the date on which they were used. Chris
