Joe Clark has said: "Illustration, writing, video, and sound are examples of modes of expression." I differ: they are expression medium (media), non modes. And he has also said: "Sound isn't an illustration" I don't agree, the sound can be good to illustrate, to decorate, to describe, etc. Several expression "modes" can be used with each one of the expression "medium" and each one of them can be good to express, to demonstrate, to describe, to illustrate or to decorate.
