I direct the NIST Web metrics team which has developed several prototype tools such as: WEBSAT to check web pages against usability guidelines, WEBVIP to instrument a web site to collect user interactions, VISVIP to visualize user paths through a web site, etc. Since NIST is part of the federal gov't our tools are in the public domain.
