Hi Shawn, I would be happy to give Ray a call this afternoon. I don't know him personally but will let him know about the work we are doing. I'll see if he can review the charter and comment next week. I'll let you know if he'd like to get more information from you all. We are hoping to get any comments next week, so that we can address them before the charter goes through the multi-step process to get to formal AC vote. The draft charter is here: <https://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/charter2017> The e-mail below went to W3C AC Reps and Chairs last week. Would you like the Co-Chairs (Sharron, Brent) and/or W3C staff contact (Shawn) help? Comments can go to the list of their choice: * public list: wai-eo-editors@w3.org * member list: member-charters-review@w3.org * chairs list that's W3C staff only archive: team-eowg-chairs@w3.org * direct: shawn@w3.org The Co-Chairs and I are happy to talk with them if they'd like. EOWG has completed most deliverables from its previous charter, which are linked from the Milestones table at <https://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/wiki/EOWG_Current_Projects#2015_Charter_Milestones_status>. The new charter includes: * developing resources that support understanding, implementing, and testing conformance to W3C accessibility standards, * updating existing EOWG resources to better meet users' needs in the current environment. Details are in the draft charter at: https://www.w3.org/WAI/EO/charter2017 *Issues* We particularly welcome your input on the request by some W3C Members for EOWG to provide more support for implementing accessibility, including reviewing and/or developing more Tutorials[1] or other "explainers", and training material. EOWG is currently planning to develop editorial guidelines, communications, and processes to better support more people developing and revising Tutorials and other EOWG resources. EOWG envisions that individuals and organizations that have existing materials may be interested in bringing those through EOWG and other relevant Working Groups to be published on the WAI website. Another issue that we have been processing is the options of Working Group, Interest Group, or Community Group. Partly based on AC feedback in 2015, the Co-Chairs, Team, and EOWG participants carefully evaluated options of the proposed work being done in the different types of groups. The results of the analysis [2] are that a Working Group is important for credibility of deliverables, participant support and motivation to contribute, and leveraging the existing productive group. Furthermore, the proposed work fits the W3C Process description of a Working Group, and not an Interest Group. [3] *Please provide input by 8 June* We strongly encourage those with an interest in this charter to comment on the proposed charter by 8 June, so that we can resolve any questions and issues before the formal review period, and avoid later comment processing when some AC reps are juggling work and vacation. We are happy to receive comments via e-mail and to set up teleconferences to discuss issues. We welcome your general expressions of interest and support on <w3c-ac-forum@w3.org>. Please send any substantive comments in response to this email as appropriate to <member-charters-review@w3.org>, which has a Member archive [4]. If you want to make your comments public, please use <wai-eo-editors@w3.org> (archive [5]). If you have any questions, need further information, or would like to set up a meeting, please contact: Shawn Henry <shawn@w3.org>, EOWG Staff Contact. A formal Advisory Committee Review for this proposed charter is planned for June-July 2017.
