I think one point is that they aren't "our" people, i.e., it is not a WAI document and we might best serve by assuming that we are pointing out to current WCAG users that this is a route that will serve (to the extent outlined in our doc) the process of achieving accessibility. In the end it might not matter if we recruit any MW folks for our "cause". Love.
