Widening ARIA "reach"?

In the ARIA Overview http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/aria.php is "With WAI-ARIA, developers can make 
advanced Web applications accessible and usable to people with disabilities."

Perhaps we could reach out and educate more by claiming that WAI-ARIA should be an integral part of 
the toolbox for mobile applications in general because of their similarity to the use condition of 
those trying to do Web stuff on a cell phone, for example?
