Generally i liked it but I do have some thoughts. * Conformance overview section* The first section was really good and pretty clear. In the first section paragraph 7, it says, "There may be other techniques which are not documented by the working group that would also meet the success criterion. " I'd love to see an example. I could see this as being an area for confusion. *User agents, technology-independence and "relied upon" technologies* The next heading title, " User agents, technology-independence and "relied upon" technologies" doesn't really tell me much about what the section is about. * Choosing Accessibility-supported Content Technologies (AsCT) Section* While I think "Accessibility-supported Content Technologies (AsCT)" is much much clearer then baseline, I don't want to have to read it because its so long and complex to say. The acronym isn't any better. I wish it could be as simple as saying "baseline" but be as clear as "Accessibility-supported Content Technologies." In the second paragraph of this section it talks about "host user agents." I'm not sure what that is. So is it going to be the business of WCAG WG to say that that technology is a "Accessibility-supported Content Technology"? Would the list be like HTML, Flash, AJAX? What's an example of a technology? I think its kind of funny that there has to be an understanding conformance document. You'd think that conformance would be easy enough that it wouldn't need an explanatory document... i guess not. * Conformance requirements* Are there going to be eval tool developers who are going to stream line this process for web developers? I really don't forsee any web developer reading through this much information about conformance. I TOTALLY understand the need to go into rich detail about conformance but who do you forsee the audience as being for this section? ****************** Justin Thorp US Library of Congress Web Services - Office of Strategic Initiatives e - juth@loc.gov p - 202/707-9541 >>> Judy Brewer <jbrewer@w3.org> 4/18/2007 11:37 PM >>> Dear EOWG Participants: An agenda and calling logistics for our 20 April 2007 teleconference follow. WCAG 2.0 Conformance section, Editor's Draft http://www.w3.org/WAI/GL/WCAG20/#conformance Please look through this section of the editor's draft of the upcoming WCAG 2.0 Working Draft. We're looking for input into some copyediting on different sections of the document, and particularly want to discuss the following during the EOWG meeting: - After reading this section, do you understand how conformance to WCAG 2.0 works? - Is there any information in the conformance section that could be moved elsewhere? - Could it be simplified and/or shortened, and if so, how? 2. Upcoming ATAG 2.0 Drafts - Opportunities to synchronize release of ATAG 2.0 drafts with WCAG 2.0 drafts - Brainstorming ideas for messaging the ATAG 2.0 publications, including if jointly w/ WCAG 2.0? - Would co-release strengthen message, or dilute/confuse message?
