Transition Announcement for ATAG 2.0 Last Call

This is a Last Call Working Draft transition announcement for the
Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) 2.0. This publication is
the result of further work based on the comments received on the prior
Last Call Working Draft of 10 April 2012. Since the Last Call Working
Draft of 10 April 2012, the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines
Working Group (AUWG) has addressed 33 comments, prepared a test suite,
and identified preliminary implementations. While most of the comments
were requests for clarifications, there are 3 substantive changes [1]
since the previous Last Call. AUWG believes that this publication has
satisfied the technical requirements and the significant dependencies
and is planning to advance ATAG 2.0 to later maturity levels.

Abstract
This specification provides guidelines for designing web content
authoring tools that are both more accessible to authors with
disabilities (Part A) and designed to enable, support, and promote the
production of more accessible web content by all authors (Part B).

The "Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines 2.0" (ATAG 2.0) is part of
a series of accessibility guidelines published by the W3C Web
Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

Substantive Changes since previous Last Call:
http://www.w3.org/TR/ATAG20/#status-changes

* B.2.4.4 Accessible Template Options (Enhanced) After feedback, AUWG
decided to simplify this AAA success criterion back to the original
intent, which was to have all accessible templates.

* B.2.5.1 Accessible Pre-Authored Content Options In response to
comments, new definitions were created for pre-authored content and
accessible pre-authored content. The wording for B.2.5.1 was aligned
with the wording for B.2.4.1 Accessible Template Options.

* B.2.5.2 Identify Pre-Authored Content Accessibility: The changes to
B.2.5.1 necessitated an overhaul of B.2.5.2 to address the same
concerns. The wording was aligned with B.2.4.2 Identify Template
Accessibility.
