Hi all, The survey question about B.2.2.8 got me thinking about the SC and those that surround it. I think it might make sense to: Combine: "B.2.2.6 View Status" AND "B.2.2.7 Save Status for Repair" which are already both AA. Combine: "B.2.2.8 Metadata for Discovery" AND "B.2.2.9 Metadata for Repair" - they are currently AA and AAA but both point to EARL as potential implementations. ===== PROPOSED NEW WORDING: B.2.2.6 Human-Readable Results: A list of *web content accessibility problems* detected during *checking* can be viewed and saved by the *author(s)*. (Level AA) Note: In addition to the results of *automated* or *semi-automated checking*, the *authoring tool* may include *manual checking* results, if these are collected from the *author(s)*. B.2.2.7 Machine-Readable Results: *Checking* results can be saved in a machine-readable format. (Level AAA) Note: In addition to the results of *automated* or *semi-automated checking*, the *authoring tool* may include *manual checking* results, if these are collected from the *author(s)*. ===== CURRENT WORDING: B.2.2.6 View Status: If the authoring tool records web content accessibility problems found during checking, then a list of any problems is available to the author(s) prior to the end of the authoring session. (Level AA) B.2.2.7 Save Status for Repair: If repair assistance is not provided during checking, then the author(s) have the option to save a list of web content accessibility problems to facilitate later repair. (Level AA) B.2.2.8 Metadata for Discovery: If the authoring tool records the accessibility status of web content, then the author(s) have the option to associate this status with the content as metadata to facilitate resource discovery by end users. (Level AA) B.2.2.9 Metadata for Repair: If repair assistance is not provided during checking, then the author(s) have the option to save a metadata listing of the web content accessibility problems to facilitate interoperability with external repair tools. (Level AAA) ===== Cheers, Jan -- (Mr) Jan Richards, M.Sc. jan.richards@utoronto.ca | 416-946-7060 Adaptive Technology Resource Centre (ATRC) Faculty of Information | University of Toronto
