RE: WCAG 2.1 - Translation into French proposition - Trainees Master 2 Faculty of Translation

Dear all,

Could you please let me know if the translation of WCAG 2.1 into French would still be necessary and if you could use some extra resources on this project (see my message below)?

Dear Shadi,

I attended an IAAP Conference in Brussels last December and had the opportunity to attend your intervention.
The reason of my presence to the conference is that I'm actually in charge of web accessibility for public web sites and apps for "Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles", the public services for French speaking people in Belgium - education, culture  sports, ...

I remember you said that WCAG 2.1 was not translated into French yet.
A few months ago, I contacted the Faculty of Translation where I studied a long time ago to see if they could be interested in translating this standard.
They just told me that students in Master 2 could be interested and that I could send them a training offer.

That's why I'm contacting you, to make sure that the standard has not been translated into French yet.
Would W3C be interested in this translation and could the trainees work in collaboration with the W3C?
How many trainees would we need? The training lasts 12 weeks and a technical beginner translator could translate about 2.000 words/day?

If a student is interested in this training, he/she would need a trainee convention that my organisation could provide them with and I could follow their work, meet them every two weeks in Brussels, for example.

As you will notice, none of these websites is accessible but were are working hard on it: trainings have started and templates are being adapted, there's hope :)
