My own test client complaints about the 200 reply as well; I can't
get it to respond to XML PROPFIND requests. One case does seem to work:

% telnet www.fwi.com 8080
Trying 209.84.160.61...
Connected to serv1-r.fwi.com.
Escape character is '^]'.
PROPFIND / HTTP/1.0
Authorization: Basic ------------

HTTP/1.1 207 Multi-Status
Date: Fri, 22 Jan 1999 19:11:35 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.3 (Unix) WSD/DAV 0.5.14
Content-Length: 27041
Connection: close
Content-Type: text/xml

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<D:multistatus xmlns:D="DAV:" xmlns:W="http://www.cyberteams.com/">
<D:response>
<D:href>http://serv1-r.fwi.com/</href>
<D:propstat>
<D:prop>
<D:creationdate>Fri Jan 22 14:11:42 1999</D:creationdate>
<D:displayname>/</D:displayname>
<D:resourcetype><D:collection/>
</D:resourcetype>
</D:prop>
 <D:status>HTTP/1.1 200 OK</D:status></D:propstat>
</D:response>

...

Two things I notice about the returned XML:

1. The href refers to a different machine than the host returning
the multistatus response.

2. The creation date is not in ISO8601 format, as specified in
Appendix 2 of the WebDAV document.
