SASL will soon go to IETF Wide (4 week) Last Call

Recently posted to the Transport Layer Security working group list.  On a
preliminary reading, it appears that SASL, along with TLS, is a good
candidate for a protocol which could provide authentication and transport
security for WebDAV.
