Dear All,

We hope you are all doing well during these extremely trying times.

We have some positive news. Sid and I wanted to inform you that ReSpec has been granted a Mozilla Open Source Support (MOSS) Award [1]. The award will pay Sid a stipend to work on ReSpec full time for the next 3 months.

During the duration of the award, I will be stepping down as core maintainer of ReSpec, effective immediately, to focus on my W3C Chairing and Editorial responsibilities.

I'm really excited to hand the reins to Sid to see where he takes the project. Sid will be working hard to bring you new features, fix long standing bugs, and improve documentation - making editing specs a little easier and enjoyable.

Please join me in congratulating Sid on receiving this award - It's an acknowledgement of the fantastic work Sid has done over the last ~2 years supporting ReSpec - mostly in his spare time!

If you and member company would like to continue to support the development of ReSpec, we'd like to encourage you to make a donation to our open source collective - any little bit helps:

https://opencollective.com/respec

So far, we’ve received contributions from amazing individuals: Jory Burson, Ralph Swick, and Ian Jacobs.
And from the following organizations: W3C with US$500 and TetraLogical with US$325. Mozilla is paying for hosting of https://respec.org/xref and Netlify PR deployments.

Total contributions to date: US$1,185.

Your support goes towards the development of new features (have your say what you want built/fixed!) and to hopefully help us hire more emerging open source developers.

Kind regards,
Marcos Caceres and Sid Vishnoi
