Software license recommendations?

The W3C Community Contributor License Agreement (CLA) [1] includes:

   Any source code created by the Project is not subject to
   this CLA, but rather subject to separate licensing terms
   for that source code.

Are there any recommendations for a good/preferred license to use for
source code produced by a Community Group?
