Hi, I have just archived some old mails in my Outlook and I have seen my hint concerning colors of links 2 years ago: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/site-comments/2011Sep/0045.html Looking closer at the W3C website I have noticed that nothing has changed so far. Concerning usability this is (still) a horror. Maybe it would be a good New Year's resolution to work on this? Best regards + all the best for 2014! On that URL we have the not active tabs 'Validate by File Upload' and 'Validate by Direct Input' in grey and blue text. When I move the mouse above the links (a:hover) the links turn black. A bit underneath is the link 'markup validity' in blue color and with an underline. Hovered the link turns black and keeps the underline. Further down 'Home', 'About', etc. are blue and turn black with an underline when hovered. A finger's width further down I notice red text links that turn darker when hovered. To make it even more confusing, I go on the homepage http://www.w3.org : The headline 'W3C Social Business Jam: Three-day Online Global Event' on top of the page does not change color when hovered. On the right handside in 'JOBS' I find 'Marketing and Communications for W3C Business Development' in dark blue with a light blue underline that does not change color, but get's a dark blue underline when hovered. Underneath of 'W3C BLOG' I can see 'Impressions on the Schema.org Workshop', which is dark blue (without underline) and gets underlined when hovered. In the footer the text link 'Home' is well to recognize as a text link as it is light blue (= visited link on that page). 'Standards' in dark blue is not so easy to distinguish from the normal text. Looking at the 'Copyright' underneath I can't see a difference between the dark grey text links '(MIT, ERCIM, Keio)' and the normal text. Only if I hover, I understand, ah, this are links as they get underlined! And how do text links look like on http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/site-comments/2011Sep/ ? Light blue underlined (like in the good old days) and there is no change in design when hovered. I think it would make sense to bring a clear structure how links look like onto the whole website. This would be surprisingly easy to do (and costing only little time and money) as it requires only changes in the CSS file, but not on the website.
