Ian, Perhaps I am being too fussy, but at the LH foot of http://www.w3.org/ there is a link with anchor "FAQ" which links to a page which, whilst its title declares the intention of answering frequently asked questions about page layout does not mention or answer any questions per sae, as it stands. Perhaps when the page was done a few years ago questions were expected? I would go a bit further and ask whether the w3 homepage should still link to a 2002 page about how the page layout is actually done? The page linked to is not actually that clearly written, and I would suggest you just drop the link? I followed it by mistake looking for FAQs on w3.
