CHICKEN-FRIED CHOPS

1/2 c all-purpose flour
2 t salt
1-1/2 t ground mustard
1/2 t garlic powder
6 pork loin chops (3/4" thick) trimmed
2 T vegetable oil
1 10-3/4 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/2 c water

In shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, mustard, and garlic powder.  Dredge 
chops in this mixture.  Brown chops on both sides in oil.  Place in crock pot.  
Combine soup and water, pour over chops.  Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours 
or till meat is tender.  If desired, thicken pan juices and serve with chops.

HEARTY ITALIAN SANDWICHES

1-1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1-1/2 lb. bulk Italian sausage
2 large onions, sliced
2 large green peppers, sliced.
1 t salt
1 t pepper
1/4 t crushed red pepper flakes
8 sandwich rolls, split
Shredded Monterey Jack cheese 

Brown beef and sausage in skillet, drain.  Place a third of the onions and 
peppers in slow cooker, top with half the meat mixture.  Repeat layers of 
vegetables and meat, then top with remaining vegetables.  Sprinkle with salt, pepper 
and pepper flakes.  Cover and cook on low 6 hours or till vegetables are 
tender.

With a slotted spoon, serve about 1 c of meat and vegetables on each roll.  
Top with Monterey Jack cheese.  Use pan juices for dipping, if desired.

HOT CARAMEL APPLES

4 large tart apples, cored
1/2 c apple juice
8 T brown sugar
12 red-hot candies
4 T butter
8 caramels
1/4 t ground cinnamon

Pell about 3/4" off top of each apple, place in slow cooker.  Pour juice over 
apples.  Fill center of each apple with 2 T sugar, 3 red hots, 1 T butter and 
2 caramels.  Sprinkle with cinnamon.  Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours or till 
applies are tender.  Serve immediately with whipped cream if desired.
