Conference organisers and journal people, please take note! I am among those who do not want to receive generic, unsolicited private emails with undisclosed recipients from organisers requesting me to work for free - especially as part of a system that forces the scientific community to waive their rights, funnels absurd amounts of taxpayer money into the pockets of the ultra-rich, tracks scholars' data, and passes it on to authoritarian systems. The dominant practice in this community (and many others) of passing around a database of names and email addresses without consent is unacceptable. Delete your database. Do better. -Sarven https://csarven.ca/#i
