***About the workshop***

The increasing complexity of industrial automation systems, driven by IT/OT
convergence, is transforming traditionally deterministic systems into
distributed non-deterministic cyber-physical systems (CPS). This evolution,
combined with the growing adoption of ML and AI technologies, creates an
urgent need for transparency and explainability in industrial applications.
The upcoming EU AI Act further emphasizes this requirement, making it
essential to convert black box systems into interpretable white box
solutions that provide trustworthy information and recommendations to
system operators. Semantic web technologies (SWT) and knowledge graphs (KG)
have emerged as powerful tools to address these challenges in complex
automation systems.



The SENTIS workshop serves as a collaborative platform connecting
researchers,

industry professionals, and domain experts who specialize in SWT for
automation systems. The workshop focuses on advancing transparency in both
automation systems and their AI models, while promoting explainable
solutions for industry applications. SENTIS aims to foster engaging
discussions, encourage the sharing of ideas, and catalyze future
collaborative research initiatives in this rapidly evolving domain.

***Workshop Topics***

We invite papers that focus on different aspects of leveraging semantics
for transparency in industrial systems. Topics of interest include, but are
not limited to:

   - Knowledge graphs for system transparency, explanations, auditability
   - Semantic Web technologies for user-centered explanations
   - Applications of semantic frameworks in industrial systems
   - Human-in-the-loop to construct and/or evaluate interpretable systems
   - Semantic interpretability: how to add semantics to explanations
   - Applications of Web of Things technologies in industrial systems
   - AI explainability in digital twins
   - Event detection and representation in industrial systems
   - Formal methods for describing and verifying industrial systems
   - Learning and representing causal knowledge



***Submission Details***

The SENTIS Workshop calls for original and previously unpublished
submissions. Both short and long paper submissions are welcome:



   - Short paper submissions are limited to 5-9 pages (single column). This
   category welcomes submissions presenting early research results, novel
   concepts, or discussion-oriented position papers.
   - Full papers should range between 10 and 16 pages (single column). They
   should present complete and well-developed research, featuring thorough
   theoretical analysis or substantial practical contributions.



Papers will be published in the SEMANTiCS side event proceedings through
CEUR
