******Workshop focus******

The rapid advancements in understanding human conditions and diseases have led to the development of innovative systems and AI-oriented approaches dedicated to uncovering diagnosis and treatment. The exponential growth of information in this field presents significant research challenges in designing and developing data management pipelines, knowledge generation processes, and their applications. New methods for obtaining, processing, and sharing data and knowledge are critical in healthcare and life sciences.
The first edition of the iSAILS workshop aims to provide a forum for Information Science, Bioinformatics, and Artificial Intelligence researchers currently facing life science related challenges. Participants will have the opportunity to share, discuss, and explore emerging approaches to support Search, Knowledge Extraction, Data Science, and Analytics, thus resulting in significant results for healthcare, precision medicine, biology, and genomics.
We welcome submissions of novel research and demonstrations covering conceptual, experimental, and applied studies of life sciences problems. Areas of particular interest include all applications standing in the domain of life sciences (with particular emphasis on healthcare, precision medicine, molecular biology, omics, and climate change). This workshop proposes to build the first bridge between practitioners in Life Sciences and the Information Systems community, which is concerned with building Artificial Intelligence-based solutions with an ever-growing interest.


******Topics of interest******

The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, all applications standing in the life sciences domain (with particular emphasis on healthcare, precision medicine, molecular biology, genomics, virology, and climate change). In term of technical areas, we are particularly interested in:

- AI-supported Information systems
- Machine Learning Workflows
- Generative AI applications
- Text and image recognition
- NLP applications
- Recommender systems
- Conceptual models for data-driven AI systems
- Ontologies
- Knowledge representation/reasoning


******Sumbission Guidelines******

iSAILS 2025 proceedings will be part of the CAiSE 2025 Workshop volume published by Springer. Submissions must conform to the Springer LNCS/LNBIP format. The page limit for workshop papers is 12 pages IN TOTAL. Papers must be submitted as PDF files using EasyChair at https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=caise2025, choosing the track "Workshops - iSAILS".
