Dear all, this is a quick reminder that the call for bids to locally organize LDK 2025 is still open. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. Kind regards, Jorge Gracia Dagmar Gromann ========================== CALL FOR BIDS: LDK 2025 ========================== The Scientific Advisory Board of the Language, Data and Knowledge Conferences (LDK SAC) welcomes bids from organisers for the 5th Language, Data and Knowledge Conference in 2025. Proposals should consider the following criteria: Expected date: Summer 2025 (typically in September); Expected size: About 150 onsite participants; Accessible by international travel; Affordable accommodation for participants; The event is expected to be a 2-day conference with at least one additional day of workshops; Program chairs and proceedings chairs will be selected by the LDK SAC and work in close collaboration with the local organisers; Website hosting is provided by the University of Galway in line with the LDK SAC charter; The conference will most probably take place in hybrid mode. Funding for the conference should be covered by the registration fees. However, complementary support by other grants, projects, institutions or sponsorships by companies and other organisations is also welcome (if this is the case, it should be indicated in the application). The application should include a budget draft covering the following: Room hire covering a large lecture theatre for the main conference and 5-6 smaller rooms for the workshop day(s); Coffee breaks (and optionally lunch); One conference dinner; Poster session hall; Refreshments for a poster session (optional); Travel and accommodation for approx. 3 invited speakers; Marketing and material costs; Other dissemination expenses; Technical and administrative support costs, if any. The application should include a short CV of the local organiser/s, emphasising any previous experience in the organisation of scientific events, and a short description of the venue, highlighting any technical and administrative support that the host institution can provide. Please send your applications to Dagmar Gromann <dagmar.gromann@univie.ac.at <mailto:dagmar.gromann@univie.ac.at>> and Jorge Gracia <jogracia@unizar.es <mailto:jogracia@unizar.es>> by March 31st, 2024.
