Call for Participation – Data Week Leipzig 2025

Since 2022, Data Week Leipzig has been a networking and exchange event 
that explores the scientific, economic, and social perspectives of data 
and its utilization. During Data Week Leipzig 2025, workshops, training 
sessions, and hackathons can be organized. The conference week will take 
place from June 10 to 13, 2025, at Leipzig’s New City Hall.

In 2024, approximately 530 representatives from administration, 
research, and industry gathered at the New City Hall Leipzig over five 
days to exchange ideas about ongoing and future projects. Furthermore, 
Data Week Leipzig provides an excellent platform for networking, sharing 
experiences, and recruiting.

We particularly invite event proposals that address interdisciplinary 
and cross-regional topics related to data, digitalization, and 
artificial intelligence.

## Important Dates

* Deadline for Abstract Submissions: November 15, 2024

* Announcement of All Event Formats: December 4, 2024

* Submission of All Program and Session Information (Agenda, etc.): 
February 7, 2025

* Final Program Online: March 3, 2025

* Data Science (Big Data, Data Analytics, Semantics)

* Open Data Lifecycle – From Data Acquisition to Application

* Digitalization and Urban Development (Mobility, Energy, Smart Cities)

* AI Challenges in Administration, Science, and Industry

* Hardware Development for AI Systems

* Digital Tools for Citizen Participation

* Future of the Healthcare Sector

* Sustainability and New Technologies

* Leadership in Data/Digitalization/AI Teams

* Project Management in Data/Digitalization and AI Projects

* Ethical Considerations in Data/Digitalization and AI Projects


## Training sessions with the following focuses can be conducted:

* Data Science Applications

* Open Data – Metadata Design and Provision

* Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Graphs

* Introduction to Data-Driven Technologies, Methods, Tools, and Trends

* Hardware Implementation

* Leadership and Organizational Structure in Data/Digitalization/AI Teams

* Project Management in Data/Digitalization/AI Projects

## Hackathon

Submissions for hackathons are also welcome. Since 2022 the Leipzig 
Hackathon was organized by the Office of Statistics and Elections of the 
City of Leipzig. We are open to further and different topic suggestions. 
Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

## Submission

Submissions for all Data Week Leipzig sub-events are now open and can be 
made until November 15, 2024, via dataweek@infai.org. Submissions should 
include a brief summary of the event (abstract with a maximum of 500 
words) and a description of how a sufficient number of participants will 
be acquired or addressed. Please provide the name(s) and email 
address(es) of the contact person(s), event format, and duration 
(half-day, full-day) when registering. If there is an existing community 
or previous events, feel free to include links in the PDF document. 
Please send us your abstract as a PDF file and specify whether the 
presentation language is German or English.

We expect the organizers of sub-events to personally participate in Data 
Week Leipzig and register and purchase a day or week ticket for the 
conference themselves. It is not possible to provide a free ticket for 
the organizer.
