[Apologies for multiple postings.]

There is a new extended deadline for workshops and tutorial submissions at
K-CAP 2023.

************************************************************
Call for Workshops and Tutorials at K-CAP 2023
https://www.k-cap.org/2023/call4WorkshopTutorial.html

The Twelfth International Conference on Knowledge Capture (K-CAP 2023
<https://www.k-cap.org/2023/>) provides a forum that brings together
members of diverse research communities who are interested in efficiently
capturing knowledge from a vast range of sources, including human experts,
and in creating representations that can be useful for building
knowledge-intensive services in a variety of fields, such as the semantic
web, knowledge management, natural language processing, data quality,
intelligent and automated information systems, and cognitive approaches.
Besides research and an application track, K-CAP 2023 will host a number of
workshops and tutorials on topics related to the theme of the conference.
K-CAP Workshops aim to provide opportunities for exchanging views,
advancing ideas, and discussing preliminary results. Prospective
workshop organizers
are encouraged to contact the workshop chairs should any questions arise.
K-CAP Tutorials enable attendees to fully appreciate current issues, main
schools of thought, and possible application areas.

*Topics of Interest:*
We encourage the submission of workshops and tutorial proposals on all
topics that fall in the general scope of K-CAP 2023, from traditional
knowledge acquisition and processing techniques, information extraction,
data quality, to computational and cognitive approaches.

*Submission Guidelines for Workshops:*
Workshop proposals should be submitted to
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=kcap2023-proposals as a single PDF
file of no more than 5 pages, specifying “Workshop Proposal” in the title
of the PDF.
Proposals should contain the following information:

   - Title.
   - Description.
   - Abstract (200 words).
      - Motivation on why the topic is of particular interest at this time.
      - Relation to the main conference topics.
   - Workshop format, discussing the foreseen mix of events such as paper
presentations, invited talks, panels, and general discussion. Intended
audience and expected number of participants.
   - List of (potential) members of the program committee (at least 50%
have to be confirmed at the time of the proposal).
   - Indication of whether the workshop should be considered for a half-day
   or full-day.
   - Past versions of the workshop, if applicable, including URLs as well
   as submission and acceptance rates.
   - Organizers’ details (name, affiliation, email address, homepage) and
   short CVs.

Additionally: we strongly advise having more than one organizer, preferably
from different institutions, bringing different perspectives to the workshop
 topic.

We welcome workshops with creative structures and organizations that
attract various types of contributions and ensure rich interactions. A
workshop summary will be included in the conference proceedings if accepted
(as a 4-page ACM format).

*Workshop Organizers Responsibilities:*
Our conference is dedicated to fostering an environment of collaboration
and knowledge-sharing among researchers in our field. We believe that the
exchange of ideas and experiences that takes place during in-person
sessions is a critical component of this goal. Therefore, we require that
at least one member of your workshop team is physically present at the
conference to facilitate this type of interaction.
While we understand that some situations may prevent all team members from
attending in person, we encourage you to make every effort to send at least
one representative to the conference. This individual can help ensure that
your workshop is a valuable and engaging experience for all attendees.

The organizers of accepted workshops are expected to:

   - prepare a workshop webpage (linked to the official K-CAP website)
containing the call for papers and detailed information about the
   workshop organization and timelines;
   - be responsible for the workshop publicity;
   - in-person participation for at least one presenter or instructor per
   accepted workshop.
   - be responsible for their own reviewing process, decide upon the final
program content, and report the number of submissions and accepted papers
   to the workshop chair;
   - be responsible for publishing electronic proceedings (e.g., on the
   CEUR-WS website) and make them available to participants;
   - ensure that workshop participants are informed they have to register
to the main conference and the workshop schedule, attend and coordinate
   their entire workshop.

*Submission Guidelines for Tutorials:*
Workshop proposals should be submitted to
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=kcap2023-proposals as a single PDF
file of no more than 5 pages, specifying “Tutorial Proposal” in the title
of the PDF.
Proposals should contain the following information:

   - Title.
   - Description.
   - Abstract (200 words).
      - Motivation on why the topic is of particular interest at this time.
      - Relation to the main conference topics.
   - If the tutorial, or a very similar tutorial, has been given elsewhere,
explanation of the benefit of presenting it again to the K-CAP community.
   - Overview of content, description of the aims, presentation style,
   potential/preferred prerequisite knowledge.
   - Indication whether the tutorial should be considered for a half-day or
   full-day.
   - Intended audience and expected number of participants.
   - Audio-visual or technical requirements and any special room
requirements (for hands-on sessions, any software needed and download sites
must be provided by the tutorial presenters).
   - Presenters’ detail (name, affiliation, email address, homepage) and
short CV including also their expertise, experiences in teaching, and in
   tutorial presentations.

Additionally, tutorials should satisfy the following criteria:

   - there is a clear focus on a specific technology, problem or
   application, and;
   - there is a sufficiently large community interested in the topic.

Tutorials can include practical parts in terms of examples or exercises to
be carried out by the participants. Ideally, a tutorial proposal should
consist of a two-page description (to be included in the conference
proceedings, if accepted) and an appendix (up to three pages) containing
additional material, if appropriate. A tutorial summary will be included in
the conference proceedings if accepted (as a 4-page ACM format).

*Tutorial Organizer Responsibilities:*
The proposers of accepted tutorials are expected to prepare a tutorial webpage
(linked to the official K-CAP website) containing detailed information
about the tutorial, and to distribute material to participants. In-person
participation for at least one presenter or instructor per accepted workshop is
required.

*K-CAP Responsibilities:*
K-CAP will be responsible for the following:

   - Providing publicity for workshops and tutorials as a whole;
   - Providing logistics support and a meeting place for the workshops and
   tutorials.
   - Guaranteeing that the cost of workshop/tutorial attendance for
attendees will be covered as part of the general registration fee of the
