Both of the Professorships are senior academic positions of key strategic importance. Specifically, the successful appointees will provide strategic research leadership to the DSI in the field of data analytics/data management. The successful appointees are expected to enrich University of Galway’s track record in the field of data analytics and data management by: • leading internationally-recognised research and innovation • developing strategic partnerships with industry and international research centres of esteem • attracting high quality students and early career researchers to University of Galway • translating research into strong teaching programmes.
