Position Description
Open position for a Postdoctoral Researcher (80%-100%) to join the Institute of Information Systems, HES-SO Valais Wallis (https://www.hevs.ch/), Sierre, Switzerland

Topic
The successful applicant will join a team of researchers working on Artificial Intelligence (Knowledge Management and Machine Learning) and Distributed Systems applied to healthcare and sustainability. Application domains include personalized health coaching, knowledge management for decarbonization and sustainability, computational persuasion, chronic disease monitoring, semantic interoperability, decentralized health systems, ontology-based knowledge management. Projects include collaborations with healthcare partners, startups and companies, at local, national and international level.

Starting Date: 1st of August (or common agreement)

Work environment
- The successful applicant will join the Institute of Information Systems and participate to the activities of the newly created SENSE Research and Innovation Center (https://the-sense.ch ), in collaboration with the CHUV hospital.
- The applicant will have a strong autonomy and will be able to participate in national and international projects and collaborate in interdisciplinary publications.
- The offices are in the heart of the Swiss Alps, close to several ski resorts. Many outdoor sports are possible during the whole year (skiing, hiking, etc.).

Requirements for the position
- PhD in Computer Science or Data Science
- Research experience in Data and Knowledge management.
-       Research in Machine Learning, Knowledge Graphs, Ontologies, and Decentralized systems are a plus.
- Experience in eHealth is an advantage.

Skills
- Machine learning libraries, frameworks and models
- Prototyping skills
- Knowledge of Python or Java/Scala
- Knowledge Graphs and Semantic Web technologies are and advantage.
- Excellent social skills for collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Knowledge of French or German is a plus.
