Mapping data to RDF

In collaboration with colleagues at the Open University, I am conducting a study into techniques to map data, e.g. JSON data, to RDF. The two techniques we are investigating are SPARQL Anything, an extension of SPARQL, and YARRRML, a human readable way of writing mapping rules to generate RDF. The intention of the study is to understand the experience of using these techniques, in particular the cognitive difficulties they pose.

We are seeking participants for the study, which will be conducted online, using screen-sharing, and take about one hour. Each participant will choose one or other of the techniques. No prior knowledge of the mapping technique is required; indeed we are seeking a range of levels of expertise. All the necessary information will be provided before the study. More information is contained in the attached file.

The study will take place between now and the end of April. Anyone interested in taking part should contact Paul Warren at paul.warren@open.ac.uk.

Best wishes,
