The Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University’s Technical Faculty of IT and Design is looking to appoint a number of Assistant Professors (with possibility of tenure-track) for the Copenhagen Campus, starting June 1, 2023, or soon thereafter. The Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University (https://www.cs.aau.dk/) is highly regarded in Denmark among researchers, students, and external partners because of its leading role in research, education, and collaboration. The department currently has more than 150 scientific staff, 25 administrative staff, and 1200 students. In 2020 a new department branch has been established at the Copenhagen Campus, responsible for establishing a Bachelor's and a Master's educations in “Software”. This branch will over time build its own research profile and capacity, growing to around 20 scientific staff by 2025. The Department is looking to further expand its academic capacity in Copenhagen with up to 10 new positions over the next few years within the areas of Computer Science covered by its four research groups. Data, Knowledge and Web Engineering This group emphasizes on graph data management, knowledge engineering, web data science, and machine learning, including heterogeneous data and systems, knowledge graphs, semantic technologies, natural language understanding, and recommender systems. Key applications are in bio science and health. https://www.cs.aau.dk/research/Data-Knowledge-and-Web-Engineering Data Engineering, Science and Systems The research concerns data management and analytics, including query processing, data mining, and machine learning, with emphasis on spatio-temporal, time-series, and multidimensional data. The research is constructive in nature, spans foundational topics and applications, and embraces a data science approach. Key applications are in digital energy and intelligent transportation. https://www.cs.aau.dk/research/Data-Engineering-Science-and-Systems Distributed, Embedded and Intelligent Systems This group emphasizes on foundational and logical theories, algorithms and tools for verification and validation, methodologies for real-time and embedded systems, networks and operating systems, probabilistic graphical models, machine learning, and programming technologies. http://www.cs.aau.dk/research/distributed-embedded-intelligent-systems Human-Centered Computing This group emphasizes on the design, development, and use of interactive computer systems from a human-centered perspective, including software development, digitalization, human-computer interaction, interaction design, user experience, and Innovation. http://www.cs.aau.dk/research/human-centered-computing More information about the call and how to play are available here: https://www.stillinger.aau.dk/vis-stilling/?vacancy=1200411 Deadline: January 1, 2023 -- Katja Hose, Professor Dr.-Ing.
