Multiple PhD and postdoc positions are available at the Data, Knowledge, and Web Engineering group [1], Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University (AAU) in Denmark [2]. The positions are available immediately with a flexible starting date within the next couple of months. Depending on qualifications, the positions can be filled at either the PhD or postdoc level. A PhD position is for 3 years. A postdoc position is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension for up to 2 years based on mutual agreement. The topics are concerned with using knowledge graphs and graph technologies to enable novel perspectives of analysis and make data and results accessible through the integration of heterogeneous data. Of particular interest are the scalable support of evolving data, provenance, exploration, analytics, graph embeddings, and knowledge sharing. Applicants must also have a strong background in data and knowledge engineering, graph data management and querying. Additional knowledge and experiences in the following areas are highly appreciated: data integration (data lakes, fabrics), provenance, machine learning, dynamic knowledge graphs, exploratory analytics, bioinformatics, and data science. Outstanding spoken and written communication skills in English are essential. Aalborg is an attractive student city located at a fjord and close to the sea, and is well-connected (by car, train, but also via Aalborg Airport). Denmark in general, and Aalborg in particular, are known for their excellent quality of life. Benefits ------- Salary will generally be paid according to the collective agreements for academics in Denmark. For a PhD position, the starting annual salary is approximately DKK 386,000 (ca. EUR 51,750), including pension contributions (which can be paid out as salary) and pre taxes. For a postdoc position, the annual salary is approximately DKK 450.000 (ca. EUR 60,000), inclusive of pension contributions and pre taxes. For foreign researchers who qualify for the tax scheme for foreign researchers (PhD degree required), the annual salary inclusive of pension contributions and after taxes is approximately DKK 300,000 (ca.
