=============================================================================== The 2nd IEEE International Workshop on Distributed Intelligent Systems DistInSys Rhodes, Greece, June 30th, 2022 https://fcrlab.unime.it/calls/distinsys2022 in conjunction with the 27th IEEE Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC 2022) =============================================================================== MISSION: The digital environment that we populate is becoming more complex every day. Several devices are now connected to each other and to the Internet, generating large data volume moved back and forth between edge and data centers, and processed everywhere. This growth is not about to stop, and we must be ready for cutting-edge technologies when they become cheaper, such as wearable and robotics. The main solution is decomposing systems into smaller, distributed, efficient, intelligent, and autonomous units responsible for local decision making and control, let them explore knowledge that is stored locally and communicate among themselves only when needed. That solution opens issues when discussing the systems design, data and knowledge exchange, analysis of proper and optimal coupling of system parts as well as integration of subsystems introducing a completely diverse nature into the overall framework. This workshop aims at gathering experts of Distributed Systems and Intelligent Systems to step the innovation over in this promising area of research. TOPICS: Workshop topics include, but are not limited to: - Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Computational Intelligence - Neuromorphic systems - Biometrics - Signal Processing - Intrusion Detection - Medical Diagnosis - Distributed Robotics, Swarm Robotics - Ambient Intelligence - Internet of Things - Ambient Assisted Living - Agents and Multi-agent Systems - Mobile And Pervasive Computing - Sensing and Sensor Networks IMPORTANT DATES: - Submission deadline: extended to April 15th, 2022 - Notification of paper acceptance: April 29th, 2022 - Submission of camera-ready papers: May 6th, 2022 Each deadline expires at 23:59:59 UTC-12 (AoE) PAPER SUBMISSION: All papers will be reviewed by the Technical Program Committee on the basis of technical quality, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity. All paper submissions will be handled electronically. Papers that do not comply with the Submission Guidelines will be rejected without review. The manuscripts under review should describe original work and should be no more than 7 pages in the IEEE double-column proceedings format including tables, figures, and references. Download manuscript templates for IEEE conference proceedings www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html<http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html>. Papers exceeding 7 pages will not be accepted. Accepted papers up to 6 pages will be published with no additional charge. Exceeding page(s) will be charged an additional fee. At least one author of each accepted paper is required to register for the conference and present the paper. Only registered and presented papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Accepted papers will be included in the ISCC 2022 Proceedings and will be submitted for inclusion to IEEE Xplore. The ISCC Proceedings have been indexed in the past by ISI, dblp, and Scopus. This makes the ISCC conference one of the publication venues with very high visibility and impact in both Computer and Communications areas. In IEEE DistInSys 2022, all submissions must be done through EDAS in the link https://edas.info/N29420. Please contact the Technical Program Co-Chairs for any questions regarding the submission of manuscripts. BEST PAPER AWARD: A "Best Paper Award" Certificate will be conferred on the author(s) of a paper presented at the workshop, selected by the Chairs based on scientific significance, originality, and outstanding technical quality of the paper, as assessed also by the evaluations of the members of the Program Committee.
