The Data and Web Science Group [1] at the University of Mannheim invites applications for TWO PHD/POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS IN NLP and WEB DATA INTEGRATION Applicants should have a strong (undergraduate/graduate) degree in computer science, natural language processing, data science, or a related discipline and strong coding skills. Applicants on the postdoc level are expected to have a proven publication track record at top-tier venues. The researchers will work on topics at the intersection between representation learning, (multilingual) natural language understanding, information extraction, data integration and applications to semi-structured data on the Web. Position 1 will focus on representation learning for information extraction and data integration with applications in knowledge graph completion and product data integration (PI: Christian Bizer [2]). Position 2 is open to work on a variety of topics at the intersection between representation learning, (multilingual) natural language understanding and generation and applications (PI: Simone Ponzetto [3]). Duration: 2 years with the option of extension. Salary range: According to German public scale TV-L E13 100% (commensurate with experience and qualifications, starts at approx. 50,000 Euro per year before taxation). Teaching: Duties include 4-hours teaching per week during terms (Sept-Dec and Feb-May).
