(#KGCW2021) in conjunction with ESWC2021 [https://2021.eswc-conferences.org <https://2021.eswc-conferences.org/>] ************************************************************** Workshop website: https://kg-construct.github.io/workshop/2021/ <https://kg-construct.github.io/workshop/2021/> Vido Teaser: https://youtu.be/foBdgpVHW-U <https://youtu.be/foBdgpVHW-U> Twitter Account: @kgc_workshop <https://twitter.com/kgc_workshop> Workshop date: 6th June 2021 Submission deadline: 1st of March, 2021 *************************************************************** KGCW is a full-day workshop on Knowledge Graph construction co-located with the Extended Semantic Web Conference 2021 (ESWC2021) <https://2021.eswc-conferences.org/>. KGCW has a special focus this time on knowledge graph construction methods that involve or analyze the roles of users. Our goal is to provide a venue for scientific discourse, systematic analysis, and rigorous evaluation of languages, techniques, and tools, as well as practical and applied experiences and lessons-learned for constructing knowledge graphs from academia and industry. The workshop complements and aligns with the activities of the W3C CG on KG construction <https://www.w3.org/community/kg-construct/>. Topics of interest ------------------------- Mapping based Knowledge Graph Construction Mapping languages for constructing Knowledge Graph from legacy datasets End-User Interfaces (UI) for (collaborative) editing and viewing for Knowledge Graphs building rules and management platforms in general Approaches and techniques on (semi)automatically generate mappings collaborative mappings generation exploiting mappings for query answering Tools for Knowledge Graph Construction Architectures for Knowledge Graph construction systems (Sustainable) workflows for Knowledge Graph construction & publishing Methods and Techniques for Knowledge Graph Construction Seamless (distributed) integration/interlinking from heterogeneous data sources Dynamic discovery and retrieval of data for KG construction Quality, Provenance, privacy and trustworthiness of Linked Data construction Knowledge Graph construction and publishing of streaming data at run-time Benchmarks for Knowledge Graphs construction and publishing Lessons learnt, In Use and Experience Experience, lessons learnt, and best practices for generating and publishing Negative results and in-use/applied descriptions Mapping Challenges ----------------------------- Different mapping languages for heterogeneous data emerge, such as RML, SPARQL-Generate, or ShExML. In most cases, the proposed mapping languages rely on existing but repurposed specifications, such as R2RML, SPARQL, or ShEx respectively, complemented by existing specifications for different data formats, e.g., SQL, XPath, JSONPath, etc. While this approach has its merits, there are still some open challenges that affect at least RML but most other mapping languages as well. We identified those challenges as they were mentioned in different repositories and occasions and we compiled a list of open challenges to be addressed: https://kg-construct.github.io/workshop/2021/challenges.html <https://kg-construct.github.io/workshop/2021/challenges.html>. We invite people from both industry and academia to come up with their own solutions to these open challenges. Submission guidelines --------------------------------- Share your contribution before the deadline through the OpenReview platform <https://openreview.net/group?id=eswc-conferences.org/ESWC/2021/Workshop/KGCW>. The accepted contributions will be published in the proceedings of the workshop. Each accepted paper needs to be presented by one of the authors at the workshop. Contributions -------------------- Full (12-15 pages) research papers Short papers (5-8 pages) related to: Addressing challenges identified by the W3C CG on KG construction Providing solutions for alignments between mapping languages Providing innovative and reproducible workflows for knowledge graph construction In Use and Experience papers (12-15 pages), Demo papers (4-6 pages) Position and Vision papers (4-6 pages) In particular related to the special theme of the workshop: user’s role in KG construction Abstracts of relevant to the aforementioned topics journal papers (2-4 pages) Format ---------- Authors can choose the best way to express their work, such as HTML or PDF. However, a LNCS-like layout should be provided. If your contribution will be in HTML, you can find some available tools in the ESWC21 HTML guideline. <https://2021.eswc-conferences.org/html-submission-guide/> Important dates ----------------------- Paper Submission: Monday, 1st of March 2021 Acceptance Notification: Wednesday, 31st March 2021 Camera-ready Version: Friday, 9th April 2021 Workshop: 6th June 2021 Organising Committee -------------------------------- David Chaves-Fraga, OEG-UPM Anastasia Dimou, imec - Ghent University Freddy Priyatna, Olive AI Juan Sequeda, data.world Pieter Heyvaert, imec - Ghent University Best regards, David David Chaves PhD Student Ontology Engineering Group (OEG) Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
