The L3S Research Center, Hannover, Germany, invites applications for 12 PhD and Post-doctoral fellowships for its newly established International Leibniz Future Lab for Artificial Intelligence and Personalized Medicine. You will have the unique opportunities for cutting edge research together with excellent researchers from Australia (Melbourne, Perth, Sidney), New Zealand (Wellington), Singapore (ADSC, NTU), India (Kharagpur) and California (Stanford), as well as with renowned colleagues from L3S (Leibniz University and Hannover Medical School) and European partner institutes. The main research areas correspond to the expertise of the national and international researchers forming the Leibniz AI Future Lab. You should apply if you are interested in one or more of the following research areas 1. Deep Learning and Integration of Semantic Knowledge 2. Signal Analysis and Fusion 3. Probabilistic Methods 4. Information Extraction and Web Mining 5. Robust and Reliable Machine Learning 6. Privacy Preserving Data Mining and Data Protection 7. Interpretability of Artificial Intelligence Algorithms 8. Fairness and Responsibility in Artificial Intelligence 9. Artificial Intelligence for Personalized Prevention, Diagnostics and Therapies 10. Machine Learning for Multi-Omics Data and Precision Medicine 11. Clinical decision support systems You should possess good knowledge in one or several areas relevant for the topics specified in this announcement. Very good proficiency in English (and possibly German) is expected, as well as an outstanding M.Sc. or Ph.D. in computer science, medical informatics, bioinformatics or related fields. International experience during your studies or afterwards as well as good social and communication skills are helpful. The salary amounts to German TV-L E13 / E14, which is roughly 50.000 to 60.000 Euro gross income per year. All applications received prior to June 30 will be given full consideration.
