*NLP Early-Stage Researcher position at Babelscape + Ph.D. at Sapienza
University, Rome, Italy*



This is a* full-time *EU-funded, 3-year position to* work at Babelscape *(
http://babelscape.com), a highly-technological company based in Rome,
Italy, at the intersection between research and industry-focused on
the *construction
and maintenance of multilingual lexicalized knowledge graph*.  The position
is limited to the duration of the qualification procedure in the field of
knowledge graphs with the *EU project KnowGraphs*.


The *candidate will also start a Ph.D. in 2020 *in the *Department of
Computer Science *at the* Sapienza University of Rome *under the
supervision of prof. Roberto Navigli

*internationally-renowned
group *of 15+ researchers and Ph.D. students in *multilingual Natural
Language Processing*. (see the ERC MOUSSE project
<http://mousse-project.org> for recent research outputs).


*Duties and responsibilities*

The selected candidate will be responsible for carrying out research on
extracting and interlinking *multilingual lexicographic knowledge
graphs. *During
the project *the researcher will be hosted at a partner academic
organization* for two *secondments* (2+4 months) in order to work on a
specific topic. The host organization is fixed.



*Profile requirements*



   - M.Sc. in computer science, computational linguistics or linguistics.
   - Programming skills in Java or Python.
   - Knowledge of deep learning architectures and frameworks (PyTorch,
   Tensorflow) is a plus.
   - Excellent communication skills.
   - The candidate may not have resided or carried out his/her main
   activity in Italy for more than 12 months in the last 3 years.
   - The candidate must be, at the time of recruitment, *in the first four
   years of her/his research career* (measured from the date when the
   candidate obtained the degree which would formally entitle her/him to
   embark on a doctorate).



*Remuneration*

The selected researcher will receive a living allowance (EUR 3270 gross per
month) and a mobility allowance (EUR 600 gross per month). In case the
recruited fellow has family at the time of recruitment, s/he will also
receive a family allowance of EUR 500 gross per month. All Institutional
costs (e.g., Ph.D. enrolment) are covered.
