*Research position in Big data Group at Western Norway Research Institute*

We are looking to hire one researcher to support our Big data group.
*Initial* appointment is for *one year*, with an *extension possible* up to
3 *years* fully funded Ph.D. position.

*Job description*

The researcher will be a member of the big data research group and will
participate in relevant research activities within the on-going project
focusing on Big Data Analytics in Energy & Utilities sector. We collaborate
with academia and industry to pursue applied research on a broad range of
data related challenges in fields such as mobility, transport, energy and
crisis management. We participate and coordinate research and innovation
projects funded by national and European funding agencies, and the
researcher will participate in ongoing national project.

*Requirements for applicants*

Applicants should preferably have a master’s degree in informatics or
related field and practical experience in open source-based technologies
(i.e. PHP, Java, mySQL, MongoDB) and/or programming languages (R/Python).
Familiarity with Machine Learning and data analytics is of advantage. Good
proficiency in English is expected; knowledge of Norwegian language is
helpful.
