Dear all, It’s no secret that I (and some people with me) have been concerned about the disconnect between the Semantic Web research community’s focus and real-world application of our technologies. In our latest vision article, we discuss the seemingly common sentiment within our community that the remaining road toward broad adoption is merely a matter of development and engineering. From recent personal experiences with front-end developers trying to make Semantic Web technologies work for them, I’m convinced that significantly more research is hiding in what we have traditionally considered pure engineering. You can read the article here: https://ruben.verborgh.org/articles/the-semantic-web-identity-crisis/ It is currently under submission to the Semantic Web Journal, and reviews are most welcome here: http://www.semantic-web-journal.net/content/semantic-web-identity-crisis-search-trivialities-never-were Looking forward to your thoughts and feedback. Best, Ruben
