It's all about analytics and metrics! We encourage you to bring and work on your own ideas or join forces with other teams. Example themes are:

* What's hot and what's not in science? Using metrics to create trend or gap analysis.

* Measure the impact of science: Create new or calculate alternative metrics (for example to challenge the Journals Impact Factor).

* Explore how analytics and metrics can help with solving Grand Challenges such as Climate Change, Sustainability or Global Health.
Who are we looking for?
Are you a data evangelist, innovative thinker, data explorer, creative developer or UX champion? Then welcome to our hack day! Being a programmer or developer is not a must. The only condition we have for you is: Be up for a new challenge and feel like developing cool new tools with us.
What's in for you?
Meet and connect with other developers from the Open Data Community. Get to know our Springer Nature staff and work together on cool new tools and solutions. In other words: Prepare yourself for 1.5 days full of new insights, fruitful collaboration and fun, of course!

About the Springer Nature Hack Day Series
Established in June 2017, the Springer Nature Hack Day Series aims at facilitating the collaboration between developers and researchers to develop new tools and services based on linked open data. Besides brainstorming and exchanging ideas and experiences, we are curious to see what can be developed with our freely available data sets. The Springer Nature Hack Day Series centers around the exploration of different ways on how to advance discovery with research data.
We hosted two Hack Days in 2017: The first Springer Nature Hack Day focused on "Linked Open Data in Action"<https://www.springernature.com/gp/researchers/scigraph/sn-scigraph-hack-day>, while the second Springer Nature Hack Day's theme "Advancing discovery with published research data"<https://www.springernature.com/gp/researchers/campaigns/sn-hack-day> also included data from Scientific Reports.
