Tasks

- Research at the intersection of Information Retrieval, Semantic Web 
and Knowledge Graphs, Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning
- Handling of large, heterogeneous data, in particular Web data, e.g. 
through crawling, temporal analysis, information extraction, data 
integration, search and retrieval
- Application of innovative methods, technologies and research results, 
e.g. for the further development of a Linked Data backend infrastructure 
for the semantic linking of GESIS data collections and Web data
- Writing of a doctoral thesis jointly under the supervision of Dr. 
Benjamin Zapilko and Prof. Dr. Stefan Dietze

Your profile
***************

- University degree (Diploma, Master or similar) in computer science or 
related discipline
- Profound knowledge in software development with Java, Web and XML 
technologies, database and search technologies
- Knowledge in at least one of the following fields like Information 
Retrieval, Semantic Web, Machine Learning or NLP
- Experience with scalable, distributed software processing like Apache 
Hadoop is desirable but not required
- Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
