Sorry to enter in the discussion only at this point, but I would like to also point to a new tool we have developed (and we are still developing) for writing RASH papers natively, i.e. the RAJE editor. A proper message on mailing lists will follow next week probably, but if you would like to try it, it is available at

It is a multi-platform editor – even if we are currently experiences a bunch of problems with Linux.
