I’ve been investigating potential links between GraphQL and RDF/SPARQL as well recently.
You may be interested in our recent article about GraphQL-LD [1],
a way to query Linked Data using GraphQL queries and a JSON-LD context.

I'm starting to study GraphQL [1]. This is a new query language to transfer data. GraphQL popularity is growing fast and maybe that is the next generation of web services. 

My master's degree was about semantic describing RESTful web services and now, maybe, I can do something with GraphQL as a doctoral degree. But, I didn't find publications about combining semantic web technologies and GraphQL. Do you know some research in this area?
