Apologies for cross-posting ============================================================ 1st Iberoamerican Knowledge Graph and Semantic Web Conference KGSWC 2019 http://www.kgswc.org/ Call for workshops and tutorials ============================================================ KGSWC is a new conference to bring together researchers interested in knowledge graphs, Semantic Web and Linked Data, from industry and academia. KGSWC welcomes participation of researchers from different areas, including artificial intelligence, databases, natural language processing, machine/deep learning, human computer interaction, information retrieval, web science, etc., who investigate, develop and use novel methods and technologies for accessing, interpreting and using information on the web in a more effective way. In addition to the regular research programme, KGSWC’19 will feature tutorial and workshop programs addressing the diverse interests of its audience. We hereby invite you to submit a workshop or tutorial proposal on a research topic relevant to the KGSWC 2019 audience. REVIEW CRITERIA --------------------------- Acceptance decisions will be made on the basis of the overall quality of the proposal and its appeal to a reasonable fraction of the KGSWC community. Workshop and tutorial proposals should satisfy the following criteria: - The research topic falls within the general scope of the conference, - focuses on a specific technology, problem or application, - is relevant to sufficiently large group of conference attendees. Example tutorial topics include: general introductions to Knowledge Graphs or Semantic Web; introductions to specific knowledge graph or Semantic Web systems, technologies and trends; emerging trends to integrate knowledge graph and Semantic Web with statistical methods. Workshop proposals on novel or established topics are welcome. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES -------------------------------------- Proposal submissions should be done via sending an email to iberoamerican.kgswc+calls@gmail.com. Tutorial and workshop proposals should be written in English as a single PDF file not longer than 4 (four) pages containing the following sections: - Title and Acronym - Abstract: 200 word summary - Type: Workshop/Tutorial - Topics: What topics of interest will be covered by the workshop? (Bulleted list; no longer than half a page) - Motivation: Why is the topic timely and of particular interest to KGSWC19 participants? What is the relation of this proposal to other similar ones presented at other events? (One to three paragraphs) - Detailed Description: Length (full day or half day), overview of content and schedule, description of learning outcomes, presentation style, tutorial format, justification of length if full day (why a half-day tutorial would not suffice), prior knowledge required by the attendees (No longer than two pages) - Workshop Format (in case of workshop proposal): The intended mix of events, such as paper presentations, invited talks, panels, demos and general discussion (Either a tabular schedule or a one paragraph summary) - Tutorial Material (in case of tutorial proposals): Overview of the material used for the tutorial. In case of slides, handouts or other teaching material please specify when the material will be made available and how (e.g, under a CC license to anyone, only to the attendees, not at all, and so on) (One to three paragraphs). - Audience: Who and how many people are likely to attend? (One paragraph). - Presenters (Tutorial) or Chairs (workshop): Name, affiliation, email address, homepage and short (One paragraph) biography of each one, their expertise in the topic as well as their experiences. Please indicate which one is the primary contact. (One to two paragraphs per presenter/chair) - Related events (if the tutorial/workshop was presented before in a similar form): Link to previous event(s) and materials. The number of attendees of the previous event(s). - Requirements: Audio-visual or technical requirements and any special room requirements (One to two paragraphs). Accepted workshops/tutorials will be required to create a web page containing detailed information about the content, schedule and organisation. Tutorial organizers are responsible for the timely production and distribution of all material to be used for teaching the tutorial (slides, notes, technical papers, etc.). For hands-on tutorials requiring software, it is strongly recommended that authors publish the software online for participants to download and install in advance. Tutorial presenters must register before the early registration deadline and will receive one free registration per event.
