Apologize for multiple copies. ====== Dear researchers and colleagues, in spite the fact that the deadline for paper submissions for the WIMS 2018 Conference (https://wims2018.pmf.uns.ac.rs/) has already passed, you still have an opportunity to present your current research achievements and results by submitting Breaking News Abstracts (extended 2 page long abstracts). DEADLINE: 1th of May. Selected extended abstracts will be invited to appear in a special issue of reputed journal of WIMS 2018 Conference: https://wims2018.pmf.uns.ac.rs/cfp.php. Do not miss this challenging opportunity to present your work (please see more details below). WIMS'18 - 8th International Conference on Web Intelligence, Mining and Semantics, June 25 27 2018, Novi Sad, Serbia, will provide an excellent international forum for sharing knowledge and results in theory, methodology and applications of Web intelligence, Web mining and Web semantics. The WIMS'18 program will feature several extraordinary invited talks, high quality peer-reviewed contributed talks, challenging tutorials and emerging workshops. However, in addition, as an innovation for WIMS18, some time at the conference will be set aside for "breaking news" presentations submitted on the basis of a two-page abstract. These presentations may report on - ongoing or unpublished projects, - projects already completed elsewhere, - partially developed ideas, - negative results etc., and are meant as informal forum to encourage discussion and exchange of ideas. Abstracts should summarize and highlight why the projects will be of interest to the WIMS community. Abstracts on all aspects of Web Intelligence, Mining and Semantics are strongly encouraged, including but not limited to: - Scalable Web and Data Architectures and Infrastructures - Web Inteligence - Web Mining, Information and Knowledge Extraction - Web semantics and Reasoning - WIMS applications - Evaluation and Validation of WIMS Technologies and Applications For more detailed information about the subtopics of the above mentioned topics please refer to the Call for papers section on the WIMS18 website ( https://wims2018.pmf.uns.ac.rs/cfp.php). Presentation This session will be divided into two parts: a presentation part open to all conference participants in which all projects will be presented, and an interaction part restricted to projects and attendees for one-on-one meetings. For each project to be presented to the attendees, no more than 4 slides and 10 minutes can be allocated. How to submit The length of breaking news abstracts is 2 pages in ACM format. Please note that the submission format is MS Word or PDF. The two-page abstracts must be written in English and formatted according to the ACM guidelines. Author instructions and style files can be downloaded at https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template Authors of accepted abstracts are expected to attend the conference and present their work. Selected extended abstracts will be invited to appear in a special issue of reputed journal of WIMS 2018 Conference: https://wims2018.pmf.uns.ac.rs/cfp.php. Submissions will be considered if they are received by 1th of May. Breaking news abstracts must be sent to the General Chair ( mira@dmi.uns.ac.rs and wims2018@pmf.uns.ac.rs)
