Dear colleagues, at the Research Studio Smart Agent Technologies[1], we have been working on the foundations of a Web of Needs [2,3,4,5] since 2012, gradually reaching a maturity level allowing first real-world applications within one or two years. We are planning those applications in the field of transport and logistics. Funding for this project is secured for another 2+ years. The main focus for the successful applicant will be on this project, but they will also be contributing to related research and consulting projects. Accordingly, we are looking for a Developer/Researcher who ... likes to write good code ... is open to learning new technologies ... is comfortable writing for and presenting results to an expert audience ... is open to (co-)authoring scientific papers ... thinks critically and is not afraid to express this ... is a good match for the following skill set: * Linked Data/Semantic Web expertise * Proficient in Web technologies * Software Development (Java, Javascript, R, Python) * Indexing and Search technologies * Data analysis and machine learning * Excellent written and spoken English (German is a plus) The position we are looking to fill has the following attractive qualities: * Diverse and challenging tasks ranging from software engineering to data analysis, from scientific writing to user experience design, depending on project needs, expertise and interest * A collegial team of experts * Agile project management and development style * Centrally located office in Vienna's 9th district * Flexible work environment * Support in pursuing a PhD project An advanced degree in one of the relevant fields will be preferred. Remuneration is set along the lines of the wage agreement for non-univesity research institutions (Kollektivvertrag für Außeruniversitäre Forschung), from 42.000 EUR/year with the option of overpayment based on qualifications and commitment.
