Dear all: For the e-business domain, we proposed approaches to convert product and services classification standards like eCl@ss and UNSPSC. A first conversion to RDF/OWL that we were granted permission to publish online was eClassOWL [1], a conversion of eCl@ss 5.1.4. In a later stage of our project we described and employed a generic conversion engine (PCS2OWL) [2], whereby it was possible to convert several classification systems and proprietary category systems (e.g. Google Product Taxonomy) into RDF [3]. All of our conversions leverage the GenTax methodology [4], a means to model taxonomies in a context-specific way whilest preserving the original taxonomic structure. Best wishes Alex [1] http://www.heppnetz.de/projects/eclassowl/ <http://www.heppnetz.de/projects/eclassowl/> [2] http://www.heppnetz.de/files/pcs2owl-eswc2014.pdf <http://www.heppnetz.de/files/pcs2owl-eswc2014.pdf> [3] http://www.ebusiness-unibw.org/ontologies/pcs2owl/ <http://www.ebusiness-unibw.org/ontologies/pcs2owl/> [4] http://www.heppnetz.de/files/hepp-de-bruijn-ESWC2007-gentax-CRC.pdf <http://www.heppnetz.de/files/hepp-de-bruijn-ESWC2007-gentax-CRC.pdf> Dr. Alex Stolz Professur für Allgemeine BWL, insbesondere E-Business Institut für Management marktorientierter Wertschöpfungsketten Fakultät für Wirtschafts- und Organisationswissenschaften Universität der Bundeswehr München www: http://www.unibw.de/ebusiness/team/alex-stolz/
