Deadline extended to June 12th! CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS & PARTICIPATION ==================================== (apologies for crossposts) PLDN-SIKS Doctoral Consortium At the Symposium Platform Linked Data Netherlands A European Data Forum (EDF) 2016 side event June 27th, 2016 at Eindhoven City Hall --- The Doctoral Consortium The Symposium Platform Linked Data Netherlands is the premier venue for Linked Data in Government and Industry in The Netherlands, organized by PLDN. This year’s symposium, held on June 27th, 2016 in Eindhoven, will host the first PLDN Doctoral Consortium, a cooperation between PLDN, SIKS, the Netherlands Research School for Information and Knowledge Systems and Amsterdam Data Science (ADS). The consortium is an excellent opportunity for Ph.D. students to present their research to peers and to an international panel of prominent researchers in the field. The panel will provide the students with constructive feedback, additional ideas and suggestions about parallel ongoing work. The event is part of the SIKS educational program. All SIKS PhD students working on topics related to Linked Data, Semantic Web and Data Science are strongly encouraged to apply. Of course, other students are warmly welcome too. The PLDN Doctoral Consortium is a great opportunity for students to build their professional networks, especially during the afternoon matchmaking event at the symposium. The organising committee will select a group of students who will be invited to present their work. Selected students will give an oral presentation of their research. Prizes for the best students are awarded in two categories: one by a jury of experts, the other by the audience. Applicants should submit an outline of their research plan (max. 4 pages), including research questions and issues that they would like to discuss. The document should mention affiliation, their advisor's / supervisor's name(s) and the anticipated graduation date. The application is to be submitted to the EasyChair submission system at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=pldndc2016 The symposium is a side event of the European Data Forum (EDF) 2016 which takes place on June 29th – 30th, 2016 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Alongside the Doctoral Consortium, several keynote talks will be given at the symposium, and in the afternoon, a Linked Data Speed Dating will match knowledge-seekers in the audience with knowledge-providers.
