A fully funded postdoctoral position is available at the Center for Data-intensive Systems (http://daisy.aau.dk), Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University (AAU), Denmark. The position is available for start over the summer/fall of 2016. Description: More and more data is published on the Web as RDF or Linked Open Data. Available datasets are naturally distributed, highly heterogeneous, and constantly changing. In this context it is not only challenging to efficiently process large amounts of data locally at a single source but also to enable efficient query processing over Linked Data sources. We are looking for a talented and motivated postdoc whose work will help overcome these challenges and enable efficient and scalable query processing over Web data. The position is embedded in the QWeb project (funded by the Danish Council for Independent Research) aiming at providing efficient solutions for querying Web data. Requirements: Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in computer science and an excellent scientific background and publication record within Semantic Web technologies, in particular Linked Data and SPARQL query processing. Experiences with big data technologies, data integration, information retrieval, and machine learning are an advantage. Good communication skills in English, oral as well as written, are essential. Employment: The position is initially available for 12 months with the possibility of extension based on mutual agreement. The annual salary is approximately DKK 450.000 (ca. EUR 60,000, inclusive of pension contributions and pre taxes). Information and Application: Please send your cover letter including the preferred starting date, research statement, contact information of two references, copies of certificates for all obtained degrees, CV including a list of publications, and copies of at least two relevant publications in a single PDF to Katja Hose (khose@.cs.aau.dk). Priority will be given to applications received before April 20, 2016. Evaluation will start immediately and continue until the position is filled. Details: For further information and details, please contact Katja Hose (khose@cs.aau.dk). About Daisy: The database researchers at Daisy conduct research in Semantic Web technologies, spatio-temporal data management, data warehousing, and business intelligence.
