The RCLN (Knowledge Representation and Natural Language) team at LIPN (Computer Science Department at Paris Nord University) and Atos Intégration open a full post-doc position for research on ontology engineering and knowledge extraction from text in the domain of Public Works. Contacts - Adeline Nazarenko et Aldo Gangemi (LIPN, UMR Université Paris 13 – Sorbonne Paris Cité & CNRS) – Gabriel Képéklian et Steve Péguet (Atos Intégration) Level - Postdoctoral researcher Duration - Open-ended contract Topic - Knowledge engineering, text mining, building domain Deadline for candidatures - 25th September 2015 Workplace - Laboratoire d’Informatique de Paris-Nord, Villetaneuse (93) and Atos Intégration R&D, Bezons (95) Start date - October or November 2015 The position opens in the context of the MINnD (http://www.minnd.fr/) project, with a collaboration between LIPN, Atos Intégration, and the partners in the domain of Public Works industry (Bâtiment et Travaux Publics – BTP). The candidate, together with key-players project partners, will design and implement ontologies for Public Works (BTP) projects, and will develop methods specific to that task. BTP ontologies should model expert domain knowledge involved in the planning and development of large BTP projects, and will be integrated with the Digital Mockups that describe those projects and the life cycle of the resulting infrastructures. The ontologies will be accompanied by terminologies, thesauri, data, as well as by rules, query and reasoning patterns, and alignment methods required for their exploitation. Evaluation methods will take into account the added-value of ontologies and knowledge engineering approaches in BTP projects. The specificity of BTP use cases comes from the multiplicity of actors and viewpoints, the integration of various knowledge domain models (e.g. physical and economic), and the exceptionally long life of public works. The bootstrapping use case will concern the modeling of projects related to road building or refurbishing. The candidate should have good competence in knowledge engineering (formal languages, methods for knowledge acquisition and extraction from text or interviews, and semantic technologies in general). Specific experience in practical natural language processing and knowledge engineering projects, as well as knowledge about BTP domain will be considered a plus. Fluency in French is required. The candidate should prove a clear research potential. PhD should be completed by the end of 2015, but (s)he should be available since the starting date of the contract. The candidate will interact with several reference persons from industry, and will act as an interface between them, and the R&D labs at LIPN and ATOS Intégration. Depending on the results, the position can be renewed for 1 additional year and the candidate might eventually join the ATOS Intégration teams. The candidate must send the following documents: · a CV, with publications and a web site with publications and projects (if available), · a cover letter (in French), · a research project (1 - 2 pages) in French and · the name and email address of 2 reference persons to: · for Atos Intégration: Gabriel Képéklian (gabriel.kepeklian@atos.net), · for LIPN: Adeline Nazarenko (adeline.nazarenko@lipn.univ-paris13.fr) and Aldo Gangemi (aldo.gangemi@lipn.univ-paris13.fr)
