Dear Colleagues, I am forwarding the following call for papers for a special issue for your info. ---------------------------------------------- *Special Issue on E-Health Systems and Semantic Web* *International Journal of **Big Data Intelligence (*Inderscience) This special issue has the following complementary objectives: i. Inquiring into the theory and practice of engineering semantic e-health systems, especially methods, means, and best cases; ii. Exploring into unifying software engineering methodologies employed in implementing semantic applications across domains; and, iii. Deploying new technologies in the fields of semantic intelligence, e-health systems, m-health systems and applications especially for distributed healthcare systems. In addition to regular submissions, this special issue also invites extended version of top selected papers from ESAS 2015. The IEEE International Workshop Series on Engineering Semantic Agent Systems (ESAS, http://www.computer.org/web/compsac/esas) has been held since 2006 in conjunction with Annual IEEE International Computer Software and Applications Conferences (COMPSAC). *Subject Coverage* Recent developments in big data, wearable sensors, mobile and semantic technologies are significantly impacting daily lives of people through people-centric systems extending human capabilities in obtaining, consuming and sharing personal information. Consequently, a flock of issues both beneficial and threatening await attention. Therefore the topics of interest span both theory and practice in big data, analytics, semantics and agents for e-health systems. Topics include, but are not limited to, the following: · Smart e-health systems through web technologies · Autonomic analysis, monitoring and situation alertness · Body sensor networks and wearable sensor systems on e-health · Medical biofeedback · Medical decision support systems and tools · Context awareness and autonomous computing for ambient assisted living · E-health oriented software architectures (Agent, SOA, Middleware, etc...) · E-health virtual and augmented reality · Emerging e-health applications · Health grid and health cloud · Health monitoring and traffic classification · Healthcare management systems · ICT-enabled personal health system · Image and video processing on e-health · E-health devices and smart parts for healthcare systems · E-health big data: access, aggregation and use · Semantic Web rule languages and e-health systems · Ontology engineering and inference on e-health systems · Semantic processing in e-health · Case studies *Notes for Prospective Authors* This special issue is primarily intended for revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at current and past ESAS Workshops. Additionally, this CFP is open to all potential authors. Submitted articles must not have been previously published or currently submitted for journal publication elsewhere. The authors should include a brief statement in their submission to indicate the way in which the article substantially differs from their workshop papers and especially comment on the substantial additional original content and contributions. Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. (N.B. Conference papers may only be submitted if at least 50% more work is introduced to the extended version). All papers must be submitted online http://www.inderscience.com/ospeers/authorregister.php. A prospective author is responsible for understanding and adhering to the submission guidelines which can be accessed from the Notes for Authors tab at *http://www.inderscience.com/jhome.php?jcode=ijbdi <http://www.inderscience.com/jhome.php?jcode=ijbdi>*. Please thoroughly read these before submitting a manuscript. While submitting, do select “ESAS SI” as paper topic. Each paper will go through a rigorous double-blind review process. *Important Dates* Submission Deadline: *15 October 2015* Completion of First-Round Reviews: *15 December 2015* Revised Papers: *1 February 2016* Publication Materials Due: *1 March 2016* *Guest Editors’ details* Please address all correspondence regarding this special issue to the following Guest Editors: Atilla Elci, atilla.elci at gmail.com Duygu Celik, duygucelik at msn.com ------------------------------------------------- Cheers, Atilla Elci, PhD. http://www.computer.org/portal/web/COMPSAC/COMPSAC-WEDA *http://www.computer.org/web/compsac/esas <http://www.computer.org/web/compsac/esas>* http://tinyurl.com/ESAS15-SI-IJBDI *http://www.sinconf.org/ <http://www.sinconf.org/sin2014/index.php/keynote>* *http://tinyurl.com/SIN15-SI-IJISP <http://tinyurl.com/SIN15-SI-IJISP> * http://member.acm.org/~aelci http://aksaray.academia.edu/AtillaEl%C3%A7i http://lnkd.in/i4RAxn Chairman, http://eem.aksaray.edu.tr/ PS: nemo judex in sua causa
