http://semanticarts.com/blog/degeneracy/ The overloaded semantics of terms like 'degeneracy' and 'freebase' provide an amusing introduction to this blog about the mathematical idea of degeneracy. Oddly, while there is a good article on what degeneracy is in Wikipedia <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degeneracy>, there is little mention of what it is good for. In short, it is useful when you want computational infrastructure to still work on the edge cases. This blog introduces the idea and shows how how it applies to computing and ontology.
